The Wiki is on hold

Postby admin » Thu Feb 12, 2009 3:07 pm

I took the live sound wiki offline yesterday because of extensive comment spam. There were 2000 spam comments on the home page alone. I will have to check the software that I was using to see if there is a way to prevent this. If there is no way to do that I will look for other software or possibly adapt WordPress software for the wiki.

In the mean time I wish to keep this discussion forum open and am still taking suggestions as to topics that should be included in the wiki. Thanks!

The Wiki is once again in operation. We will give this another try!!

I recently located an open source article directory script. I am adapting this script for use in the Wiki. This script will allow authors to post articles through their browser at their convenience.

It does not have all of the community editing features of a full blown wiki software, but there is a rating system and a comment system, and we have the forum here. Some wikis have run into problems with the community editing features anyway.

Stop by and check out the progress at The Live Sound Wiki (link at bottom of page). Use the comment form on the article requesting ideas for the wiki, or use the contact form on the site.

Thanks!
